Hello Fellow Celiacs,
I just HAD to share this good news with all of you. During a lunch trip to Arby's yesterday, I was ordering my usual "Roast beef WITHOUT THE ROLL please," when the server replied, "would you like that Low Carb?" I asked her what the difference was between what I had ordered and a "Low Carb?" She told me that they will now make ANY of their regular line of sandwiches (roast beef, turkey, ham, BLT etc)as low car, by serving it in a bowl on top of lettuce and tomato slices. Speaking as celiac, that news just made my day! But secondly, speaking as a diabetic who is also on an insulin pump, counting carbs is how I determine my insulin needs, so i was JUST as thrilled to see that the new Low Carby menu also lists carb counts for many of their different sandwiches (without the rolls!) and sauces! I felt like I had hit the jackpot, TWICE, in the same day!! I applaud Arby's for their effort in meeting the changing needs of todays consumers, which in turn just happens to also help us celiacs! Imagine ordering your favorite sandwich without being looked at strangely, since you will no longer have to ask for it "WITHOUT THE ROLL, PLEASE", but by just asking for it "Low Carb"
Happy Eating at Arby's!
