The consensus is that Premarin is gluten-free but most people did not know
about Prometrium. However, here is the summary:

One person states Premarin is GF but does not know about Prometrium.

One person told me to call Stokes Pharmacy in New Jersey.

One gentleman's (?) reply doesn't deserve to be in this summary.

Another gentleman stated that according to Stokes Pharmacy, Premarin,
manufacturered by Wyeth-Ayerst, is GF.

One person in Canada has been taking both drugs for four years without
problems.

One person states that Premarin, 0.625 Premarin is GF.

One person in Australia has been taking Premarin without problems.

One person has been taking Premarin for over 20 years without problems.

One person takes 1.25 mg. Premarin without problems.

Another person has been taking Premarin for 20 years without problems and
stated that it is definitely GF.

One person takes Premarin without problems and it is GF.

One person would never take synthetic hormones, only natural estrogen.

One person has been taking Premarin for 9 years and states that it is GF.

Finally, one person has been on Prometrium for one year and states that it is
GF (BTW, this is a natural, plant derived progesterone).

One person called the drug company and states that Premarin is NOT GF so she
went to a natural source of estrogen.

Lastly, one person states "since it is made from the urine of horses kept
pregnant to produce it, they'd have to add the gluten to make it into pill
form" and suggested that I check the RXlist.com.

Thanks again to all who responded. Jane in Maryland
