thanks again for the many replies! i apprecitated everyone's input and help.
- i called bertolli's and they said the olive oil is all olive oil and that they double thoroughly clean
lines before process other products but said for the extremely sensitive they wouldnt guarantee
no cross contamination. although it sounded like she didnt think there was any.
-i am still using their olive oil because i have used it for so long and finally my dh is drying up and
stomach is settling down. so i dont think it has been the olive oil. just that this reaction has
lasted a long time or i have forgotten how long a reaction can last.
-almost everyone has had a positive experience with the bertolli's olive oil.
-one person only used organic cold pressed olive oil.
-someone only used filippo berio.
-it was mentioned maybe i have problem with leaky gut.
-several people had trouble with brown rice and could only digest white rice.
-i talked to lundberg also and they said only rice is processed with the brown rice bags and no
cross contamination. i am still eating the rice too and now i think this reaction i had may have
triggered a chain reaction and it seemed like i was reacting to everything.
-got a suggestion to wash rice well and then soak in cold water for 1/2 hour then pour out water
and cook in fresh water.
-someone said to google gluten free olive oil.
-there is a website called canaryconnection.com to help people with food allergies
-one person had bad reaction to kefir. thinking it was the inulin in it. someone else mentioned
inulin also. it took them 3 weeks to get gut better after their reaction.
-someone thought it may have been a herxheimer reaction, which is a positive reaction to the
kefir. meaning that it was killing off lots of bad bacteria and others. suggested making my own
with pure kefir grains and no added things that are in commercial brands. good idea. home made
is always best for me.
-most everyone did well on lundberg's brown rice.
thanks again for all the help and support. harriet
