Bev's email about the Barillo brand of gluten-free pasta prompted me to remember that I too wanted to share that find--and another. I found the Ronzoni Gluten-Free Pasta on the shelf nearby (look for a bright yellow box). It too was also in the regular pasta section and I'm sure I would have never noticed it except the store had added a gluten-free flag to the shelf. The Ronzoni is delicious and I like it because it has a nice grain variety--brown rice, quinoa (this was the winner for me), corn, and white rice. I love Tinkyada and Heartland brand pastas (and likely will continue to buy those once in a while because I like to support the smaller gf companies too), but I love the Ronzoni the best. Barillo is also very good as Bev said. They both cook up extremely well--no mush. The leftovers are great and hold the shape of the noodle and flavor well. The cost of Ronzoni and Barillo is less than Tinkyada or Heartland. My calorie treat for the weekend lately has been a box of Ronzoni penne cooked up with some pesto, cheese, and peas thrown in--delicious!
