Several people have ask if this product is corn, soy, or lactose
free. I called the company and was told that the unflavored one has
lactic acid and corn starch. The lemon flavored one, which is what
I have has lactic acid, no corn, and natural flavorings. She said it
contains maltose, but that the product is gluten free. Neither
product contains soy. I have called twice and was told the product
is gluten free. I might call them back on Monday again to question
someone else about the source of the maltose. I referenced this site
which says maltose is ok. http://www.celiac.ca/EnglishCCA/egfdiet2.html
I believe it is only a problem for us when the source is barley.
Several people have also ask about the cost. I paid $28 for a 10 pac
and $85 for a 30 pac.

Some responses:
My daughter's gastro recommended VSL#3 but she couldn't take it
because of an allergy issue,
it was either soy or corn in the process. I am glad to know it works
though in case she ever needs
it.

I am looking, actually. I recently discovered I am allergic to dairy
and soy- the two most common substances used to grow probiotic
cultures. All the probiotics I have used had milk protein in them!

My doc put me on it 18 months ago. It is great stuff. It has made a
huge difference to my GI tract. Seventy dollars a month is pricey,
but worth it. (i'm only taking one a day as against the 4 a day I
started off on)
