Hi again, I called Solgar Vitamins and Herbs, 202-944-2311, fax
201-944-7351, 1-877-765-4274 regarding the gluten status of its Lutein and
Bilberry-Ginkgo-Eyebright Complex. I just received a fax from Toni
Favale, Representative of Product Info Center.
The label on the bottles indicate the following as their "other
ingredients". I've followed each ingredient with the info from Toni:
*Vegetable Cellulose: Plant-sourced fiber from coniferous trees used as a
flowing agent in capsules. It helps tablets and capsules dissolve in the
digestive tract.
*Microcrystalline Cellulose: Same as above, just a smaller particle size.
*Vegetable Magnesium Stearate: A lubricant derived from palm oil. It is
not hydrogenated and does not contain fat calories.
*Vegetable Glycerin: From natural fats and oils (coconut and palm kernel
oil). It does not contain fat calories or hydrogenated fat. It functions
as a dispersion medium.
*Vegetable Stearic Acid: A lubricant derived from palm oil. It is not
hydrogenated. It is used for proper tablet ejection during the tablet
making process.
The following Solgar products that DO CONTAIN gluten (NOT gf):

At this pint in time, the other products in Solgar's product lilne are
GLUTEN-FREE. Solgar also works to eliminate as many allergens as possible
from their products. I'm really pleased that this company has come across
with unsolicited detailed info! This is for your information, and I do
not expect any responses from you folk.
