My very expert rheumatologist who has been taking a serious look at me says
that there's a form or arthirits associated with celiac sprue -- reactive or
inflammatory arthritis. I have symptoms even though I am carefully GF, but
she believes it's because I also have sprue-like symptoms which might be from
an infection which has never been treated. The arthritis symptoms associated
with sprue, she says, are typically located in the sacro-iliac (spelling?) --
lower back. Because I am actively purusing fertility treatment, I cannot
take the required antibiotics which might cure the gut infection and
therefore the arthritis. As a stopgap, I had some injections into the joints
in my back which helped TREMENDOUSLY.
