I love to shop at Whole Foods. At my store all the GF baking items are in
one place, GF pastas in one place, WF GF Bakehouse items in one place, etc.
This market was a huge improvement to what was available to buy fresh
produce. There are times that I have been in the aisles and seen people not
on a GF diet looking and purchasing GF foods. If they see GF on a package
front, that helps to spread the word about a gluten free diet. I have spoken
to people and explained it to them, and some have said, "gee, I should get
tested for that!" If you shop in a market often, you learn which aisles
you need to go down if you happen to be in a hurry that day, regardless of
if it is Whole Foods, Publix, or Safeway. And when not in a hurry, we find
new things that we didn't know existed. There are many foods we can eat in
the general aisles and they would not be in a dedicated GF section. This
expands our horizons as well as others. Let's not upset the apple cart by
upsetting a company that has made life for all us a lot easier by building a
separate dedicated bakery, having a gluten free list of items available at
the customer service desk upon request, and employees that are always
willing to help when we ask a question. I do not work for Whole Foods or
have any affiliation with them - I just love to shop there.
