I had an Upper GI yesterday morning and I'm a total mess. I wonder if anyone
else has experienced problems after this test? They told me it would take 2
to 5 hours (Upper GI with a small bowel follow through) It only took an hour,
my system works fast, I'm sure many of you can identitfy with that!

Anyway, as the day wore on I began to have abdominal pain, bloatedness and
nausea. By nine last night I was doubled over, my belly hard and distended,
it was awful. They gave me milk of magnesia to take at 7 pm which I think
made it worse. I passed some of the barium at ten and thought I'd feel better
but I didn't. My husband finally had to call the doctor because I could not
straighten up and I had the shakes. He suggested Mylanta and Donnatol which
eventually helped relieve the pain somewhat but I was up most of the night. I
have had watery diarrhea all morning now. What's the deal? I had an upper GI
years ago and had no problem. I wondered if any of you got sick after an
upper GI? This is not what I need right now. I've dropped a few more pounds
and I'm pretty discouraged.
