Hi. I have a nine month old son whose grandmother has a gluten
allergy. I hesitate to call it Celiacs because she is negative on
the blood tests and on the biopsy, but she definitely has symptoms
when she eats gluten. I have my son on a gluten free diet on the
advice of my pediatrician for the first two years of his life. I
think the idea is to not introduce wheat until his system is mature
enough to handle wheat and hopefully avoid the allergy. Has anyone
ever heard of this? Are there experts in the field who answer these
types of questions over email? Next set of questions- Does anyone
have a recipe for "graham" crackers or is there a store that carries
a good mix? I haven't been able to find one while surfing. How about
something that would work for teething biscuts? Any other comments or
suggestions for raising a child gluten free would be appreciated.
Thanks, Maria.
