I am a retired NYC teacher and former dean. As I was reading
Tigerlily's post, I remembered that several years ago, the federal govt
sent a directive to school systems saying that any system that served
junk food and/or food with preservatives would be denied federal
monies. Now, here's my thought--since celiacs are now covered under
the Americans with Diabilites Act, may not this federal guidline be
expanded to "encourage" school systems to provide gf food for celiacs?
I'm out of the loop, so I can't track this down, but is anyone a lawyer
or social worker? You might be able to help.

Ann
