My 18 year old celiac daughter had conjunctivitis first in the left eye and
then the right. (SHE WORKS IN DAYCARE)The doc saw her and put her on
Vigamox, and the infections cleared up in about 48 hours. Her eyes looked
normal but now she has blurred vision. The eye doctor tested her nearsighted
but she had 20/20 before. She can't see the chalkboard or roadsigns and all
of this happened since last week when she came down with the infection. We
were told to wait a bit before getting glasses in case they improved on
their own. She is now on a RX drop for dry eyes. With all the wear and tear
the celiac disease caused on her body, her eyes were perfect. She is sooooo
upset as am I. I don't blame the doctor since she obviously had a bacterial
infection or the conjunctivitis would not have cleared up so quickly with
the anitbiotic drops. Does anyone out there know if Celiac disease may have
had any impact on this situation? Anyone have a similar experience?
