Fran, I took Dapsone for 25 years, and still take a low dosage after a
year on a GF diet. The worrysome effects are depression of white-cell
count, and a doctor prescribing Dapsone will ask for periodic blood tests.
I never had any other side effects.

I tried various cortisone creams over the years, but found Triamcinolone
worked best for me. I rarely use it anymore.

I found that other substances give DH-like itching. Some wines with
excessive tannins drive me crazy for a day or so.
