The last time I had my teeth cleaned at a dentist's office, I thought that I
had a gluten reaction, but really didn't know the source of it.

Today I asked a periodontist about the ingredients used in dental cleaning
compounds. She told me that common ingredients include pumice, silica, and
FLOUR. She had never thought of this as a problem for celiacs, since only a
small amount would be ingested. In fact, no one had ever asked her about it
before.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Margaret
