This is an example of why I don't trust food manufacturers, and so I don't
bother calling them. While it is possible that the malt is made from a GF
grain, it is not likely. Barley has a flavor that is liked, so that is why
barley malt flavoring is often used. Rice malt would have no special
flavor, so it would make no sense to use it as a flavoring. So we have a
case here of the manufacturer not understanding what has and what doesn't
have gluten.
