Hi All--

For everyone's information, I'm the one who asked if
one's reactions to gluten ingestion change over time
(just posted the summary). I'm having some fairly
serious problems, but have been unable to sort out
what the problem might be.

To make a long story short, I ate out on a Saturday
night (Macaroni Grill) about a month ago. I checked
the archives, called ahead, spoke to the manager, and
finally ordered the grilled pork chops and veggies -
all cooked separately and in/on clean surfaces. The
manager seemed to understand the gluten and cross
contamination issues, so I was cautiously optimistic.

The following day about 3:00 p.m., I began
experiencing nausea and by 7:00 p.m., severe diarrhea,
which lasted into Monday. Prior to being dx'd with
celiac, I suffered from constipation when I ingested
gluten, so I thought perhaps my reaction had changed.
I didn't think it was food poisoning because my nausea
and diarrhea didn't present itself right away.

Since I got over the diarrhea (a month now), I've beem
experiencing severe constipation...I just simply can't
seem to get back to normal again - and I have been
strictly GF. I've cut down on carbohydrates and have
been eating more veggies and fruit, but it's made no
difference. This situation is much worse than any past
accidental gluten ingestion.

With the latest information on a possible bacteria
responsible for gluten sensitivity, I'm wondering if
this could be an explanation. I don't have insurance,
so it's pretty much impossible for me to go through
expensive tests, but I'm beginning to think this is
something that needs medical attention.

If anyone has any opinions or suggestions on how to
get to the bottom of my problem or treat it, I would
appreciate your feedback. I'm currently taking large
doses of senna (guaranteed GF and something I've taken
for constipation in the past), which I know is not the
answer, but I don't know what else to do. Perhaps
there's a naturopathic remedy? Probiotics? If so,
what?

Thanks for any help anyone might be willing to offer.
