Hi to list members.

Have any of you gotten phone calls in the last couple of days indicating that
HerbOx bullion cubes have gluten in them?

I was called in the middle of the night by a doctor in our area who was very
concerned that this product now contained gluten.  It was being manufactured
by a new company (Hormal) and they had changed the ingredients.

His concern was that HerbOx bullion cubes was a staple of the liquid diets
that hospitals put patients on and this could be critical for celiacs.
Then, last night, I got another call from a registered nurse who also told me
of her concern about the changed ingredients and that I MUST get the word out
about the Gluten status of HerbOx.

I just got off the phone (1_800-523-4635) with the consumer affairs folks at
Hormel (her name was Joan) who firmly stated that HerbOx does NOT contain
gluten.  It does, however, contain MSG which is US made and should be gluten
free according to her.

I think it is important for this list to confirm or disprove rumors like this
in order to maintain our credibility and to reassure our list members.
I am not 100% convinced of this answer and wonder if any of our "pros" have
any additional information.

I also spokle to Joan about where she thought the rumor had gotten started
and she simply didn't know, but confirmed that Hormel has been getting LOTS
of phone calls about HerbOx.
