Does anyone have the name (or names) of gastroenterologists familiar with
celiac disease in Salt Lake City. We recently convinced my father to have
the celiac antibody tests done. They came back positive. Yet, his
gastroenterologist told him he had too many other medical issues (carcinoid
syndrome, a recent artificial heart valve, diabetes) to be concerned with
confirming a celiac diagnosis with a biopsy or even trying a GF diet. As a
result of the mechanical heart valve, he is taking coumadin. My father
believes the biopsy would be too dangerous under these circumstances. Has
anyone had the biopsy done while on blood thinners?

Thank You!

P.S. - My father also has a family history of celiac disease - my 6 year old
son was diagnosed 2 years ago.
