Have any of you had problems with these? I have quit them. I have found
that when I eat out or if I eat Luna bars I get weird buzzy sensations that
night and really bright, disorganized phosphene patterns when I close my
eyes. Since these patterns are sort of random white noise from the brain,
when they act like this I tend to think my brain is not at it's best. There
are times when the patterns are particularly nicely organized, like Persian
carpet patterns, especially after a nice relaxed day out hiking in the
country. With the Luna bars I suspect either some gluten in the dates, or
worse yet pesticides. I figure that the dates used are the cheapest ones,
and that the wholesale buyers and dealers may have added flour to keep them
from sticking to each other (the reason I can no longer eat the lovely
Medjool dates, but can eat cooking dates). I don't know if insects are a
problem with date production, but I know that fungus is, so there may be
quite a lot of spraying in date groves. I am really the miner's canary when
it comes to pesticides. Please let me know if any of you have had trouble
with Luna bars. I am down to no handy snack bars.
I was buying another brand but they have either changed their formula
or their label. They used to say gluten free, now they don't and they have
oats in them. Thanks. Donna
