I get joint issues and stiffness if I eat much beef or sugar. It may be
because of fructose, uric acid, or iron ... all of them tend to be related.
But if I stick to a more Asian diet ... loads of vegies, rice, and fish ...
I have very happy joints and muscles, and have more energy. I use xylitol as
a sweetener.

I had your symptoms plus a few more. my tests for celiac were negative.
After many years I tried a wholistic doc that ran a test for for
sensitivities. Among several food sensitivities, was a sensitivity to
gliaden, a protein in gluten. So I went on the GF diet. At one year I still
had many symptoms, but not all. It was about 3 years before I felt well. I
worked with a nutritionist to create a really healthy diet and supplemented,
and did weekly acupuncture. While I feel well, I still fatigue easily and
have brain fog and anxiety.

You really sound like you have Lyme or one of the co-infections. Have you
been tested for Babesia, Bartonella, etc.? I have bartonella and had a lot
of the same symptoms before treatment. Might be worth going to a Lyme
specialist.

I have lots of pain and fatigue. I was diagnosed with vitamin D deficiency
and supplementing with Vtmn D has helped with the pain. I followed low
oxalate diet and did help some but not that much. I also got tested by a
sleep specialist due to lots of fatigue and was diagnosed with sleep apnea.

I now use cpap and fatigue improve .

I too have muscle fatigue and celiac and another condition and what has been
of noticeable help for me is a cup of rooibos tea, brewed for 5 minutes,
every morning. It is a heart healthy herb and it seems to give me more
stamina and muscle strength every day. Hope it helps you too.

I've had many of the same symptoms and have been finding some answers in the
book, Grain Brain, by the neurologist David Perlmutter. It's a New York Times
bestseller, and surprisingly easy to read despite all the science in it.
It's amazing how little doctors still know about grain intolerance. I was
diagnosed as gluten intolerant in 2003 and have been trying to understand it
better these past 11 years. This book has helped me a lot. I really
recommend it.I've been reading lately about "finding your low carb level".
Evidently how low you should go on carbs differs from person to person. I've
had problems with feeling agitated and not being able to sleep. I saw one
suggestion that if this is the case, to up your carbs a little.

I also wonder if some of us need to ease more carefully into eating fewer
and fewer carbs. Since women apparently have less serotonin than men, we may
need to adjust our diets to compensate.

I have both celiac and pyroluria, many of us with pyroluria find we need a
paleo diet along with a number of supps between the deficiency issues caused
by the celiac and pyroluria. I was having a lot of stiffness/pain/brain fog
issues before going paleo. I do best on 100% paleo but its not in the budget
so I'm slowly figuring out what my triggers are so I can still have cheaper
food sources. I know corn causes a lot of issues for me. I'm eating
something now thats causing my stiffness to come back, I'm guessing its the
sugar sweets I've been sneaking lately. I also had to give up caffeine which
was really hard since I was a major addict but its been about 4 months and I
feel a lot better. Anyway, have you gone to the Pyroluria Facebook group?
<https://www.facebook.com/groups/pyroluria/>
https://www.facebook.com/groups/pyroluria/ tons of really great help. I
don't advise the yahoogroup since they seem to focus on Lyme and we got no
where and a lot of bad advice from them but the FB group has been awesome
and gotten us on the road to health:)
