As long as everyone else is putting in their two cents worth on this topic,
I can't resist adding my experience.

Much to the contrary of losing friendships, I was startled to have men
coming after me after going gf, with the result of three marriage proposals
within a month's time, shortly after going gf!  I attribute this either to
God having fun with me, or the fact that I felt so much better that the old
cheerful sunny me came back, after years of muscle and tummy aches and
migraines that made me not much fun to be around, I'm sure (I lost a
husband along the way).

Btw- I'm happily remarried going on a year now-
