I am new to this list but am intetested in also hearing about others'
reactions to sulfites. I have been a celiac for 2 years now (diagnosed
then) and also have Crohn's Disease. Both were diagnosed at the same time
via biopsy. My sulfite reactions have been increasing in severity for
several years, however. The only mechanism that I have realized this is by
drinking wine containing sulfites. My reactions started out with getting a
headache after drinking a glass of wine, then progressed to the headache
and hot and red face (cheeks, chin, forehead). Now, if I even have one sip
of wine-be it red, white, blush-I get immediate reactions. I have never
thought of it being related to my celiac problems. I will discuss with my
doctor though. Thank you for the insight and I would appreciate more
information on the subject.
