Two years ago, I was biopsy diagnosed by a Kaiser gastroenterologist who
told me that I'd need to see him once a year for the rest of my life.
For my checkups, he asked me lots of questions and did blood work. I
switched insurance complanies and doctors and my new primary care M.D.
and the gastroenterologist I saw for the routine colonscopy for 50 year
olds both only asked me whether I was doing OK on the diet and don't
seem to think I need yearly checkups. Since Kaiser isn't known for
providing unnecesary services, this makes me somewhat suspicious. Does
anyone know whether yearly checkups are needed?
