An exciting new website is nearing it's first stage of completion, but
before it can be released to the public it must first be thoroughly tested
to make sure that there are no major bugs in the software.

The website is a dynamically driven celiac community site with various tools
and features. It is non-commercial in nature so everyone is welcome to use
the site at no charge.

The primary feature of the site is a GF Products system that has the
potential to create an extensive, up to date, and accurate gluten free list.
The reason why this system is so powerful is because of it's design. The GF
Products system allows...

. Strength in numbers:
All members of the website have the ability to add a product
instantaneously. Once you have added a product it is then stored in a
database where you will have access to edit, or delete the product that
you've entered. Since anyone has the ability to contribute, the more active
members the site has the more extensive the Products list will be.

. UPC Integration
The GF Products system requires that all products have a valid UPC number.
This allows you to know for sure that the product you're inquiring about is
actually the one that is listed. It also means that there will be no
duplicate products.

. Speed/Accessibility:
There are no bulky text files to download or programs to install so there's
no need to worry about not having the most up to date list. Simply open up
your browser to the website and you'll have the ability to search the entire
Products database or browse by category.

. Future expansion:
The products data is stored in a way that allows it to be utilized outside
of the website itself. This means that future additions to the system are
possible. For instance it would be possible to develop an application for a
handheld device that would either access the database using an internet
connection, or could automatically download the latest version of the list
when plugged into your desktop. This would allow you to grab a product off
the shelf in a store, type in the UPC number, and voila.

Besides the Products list there are many other features that might peak your
interest. Here's what you get:

. Latest celiac disease related news
. Community Forum
. Private messaging
. Chat room with Instant Messaging
. No banner ads!

If you would like to help get the site released to the public as soon as
possible then all you have to do is use it and if you encounter any big
problems then report them.

Anyone interested should email the address below and request the URL to the
website. A select few will receive a reply with the necessary information.
After any major flaws are patched up then more people will be invited until
finally the site will be completely open to the public.
