89 people responded to my survey on whether or not they eat products
containing distilled vinegar such as found in mustard, ketchup, pickles, etc.
The results were as follows: 47 (52%) said they eat products with distilled
vinegar without any problems and 42 (47%) said they do not. None of the
"donots" cited any particular reason other than playing it safe. The "dos"
said they eat it without any problems. Two chemists that responded said the
gluten cannot get through the distilling process. Most of the respondents
were from the U.S., two from Canada. Based on these answers I am using it
without any problems during the past week and it sure makes eating out a lot
easier.
