Laurie,

I have traveled all over the country/world in the 12 years I have been
diagnosed and eat out here in CA at least once a week. Nowhere have I ever
run into anyone in a restaurant anywhere that has heard of
Gluten-intolerance/CD.

On the other hand EVERY restaurant that I have been to - including PF Changs
in Newport Beach - has been most acommodating and I have NEVER had a reaction
to restaurant food, although I am highly sensitive to gluten. At PF Changs
the waiter took special care because four of us wanted to order and share
different dishes, as one likes to in this type of restaurant. He checked
with the cook and came back and told me I could have three of the dishes and
the cook would make a small GF version of the other for me.

My advice: Go to a FINE restaurant or cook at home. Bring a restaurant
card. Choose something on the menu that appears to be GF and have the waiter
check with the chef before you order.

Barb
