On Monday, Mike Jones thoughtfully posted an announcement of Elaine
Hartsook's death to CEL-GPS, the dedicated list for support group leaders.
 Since arrangements were pending , Elaine's family and close friends asked
that an announcement to this list also be made when arrangements had been
finalized. Mike's announcement is below, followed by details regarding the
funeral and donations, as they were given to me by Sue Eliot this afternoon.

===========================================================
It is with sadness that I report the death of Elaine Hartsook, Ph.D., R.D.
today (February 19, 1996).

Elaine was the Director of the Gluten Intolerance Group of North America
and was extremly respected for her activities in creating a medical
awareness of celiac disease. Her attention to detail, membership on
national advisory boards, and the wonderful style of presenting
information will be felt as a loss by all celiacs and their families.

On behalf of her friends, I would like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to
her family.

At this time, I do not have any additional details. Please email me
privately and I will pass along any information as it is obtained. {see
details below}
