Several days ago I sent a message to the list asking for pie pastry ideas.  I think I received around 50 replies.  Thanks to all of you who were willing to share your ideas.  It's great to know that there are other pie-minded celiacs out there making the world a better place.

There was a flood of unqualified praise for Bette Hagman's configurations of pie in _The Gluten-Free Gourmet_.  Favorites were her vinegar crust and Donna Jo's dream pastry recipes.

Alternative crust ideas and recipes included nut, cereal and cookie crusts.  One person suggested not using a crust at all.  I like this suggestion, but I wouldn't call it pie under those circumstances.

Someone suggested I check out the _Joy of Cooking_ for their gluten-free tart pastry.  In so doing, I found out that the new JOC has several g-f recipes that look quite nice.

A number of people liked the Gluten-Free Pantry's pie pastry mix.  It was emphasized that the pastry handles best when *thoroughly* chilled, or even better, frozen and thawed.

Other mixes that received mention were Aunt Candice Foods, Made by Mona, and 'Cause You're Special.  A couple of people suggested I check out the Whole Foods in Chapel Hill for prepared g-f sweets.

Finally, one person sent me a link to another forum for celiac recipes, etc.  The URL is forums.delphiforums.com/celiac/messages
