I have biopsy diagnosed celiac. Religious about the GF diet. I have had progressive problems with morning symptoms, mainly when traveling, mainly diarrhea, but also significant malaise, muscle aches, etc. I typically feel better around noon or so. My GI doc says the morning symptoms are very common. I want to understand the physiology of those symptoms, not just be told 'yep, it's common.'

This has nothing to do with gluten, but seems to be getting progressively worse with time, to the point that it makes me want to never travel again! Obviously, I don't want to NOT travel! I know that IBS may still be a factor. I've adjusted 'as needed' medication to help control the symptoms, but would prefer to figure out exactly what is CAUSING the symptoms and address that. My GI doc has done colonoscopy to rule out microscopic colitis. I'm open to your thoughts and suggestions and will summarize. I'm specifically interested in medicine regimens you may use for traveling, if anyone else experiences these challenges with travel, and what your theory is regarding contributing factors.

I'm eternally grateful for this group!

Thanks in advance,
Lisa D.
