Dear Listmates -

I have no financial interest in these products.

After posting my email, that I felt Relentless Improvement's menatetrenone (MK-4 form of vitamin K2) cost less to use, I heard from the developer of the Osteo-K. He made some valid points concerning Osteo-K containing 1000 mg calcium and other nutrients, which means buying fewer additional bone density supplements and making the cost comparable to the other brand.

I felt he had some valid points, and so I am pasting his email here:

"To Vicki and others -

First, let me state that I do have a financial interest in the discussion of

MK4 and osteoporosis. First, my financial disclosure. I created Osteo-K

(www.nbihealth.com), with my partner Steve Pieczenik, MD, PhD.

I am familiar with the Relentless Improvement brand of MK4. Given that Vicki focused on the financial savings of the Relentless Improvement brand, let's compare Relentless Improvement with Osteo-K, including the costs for all ingredients in each product. Only by doing this can you accurately compare the true costs of each product. Let's also compare what you get for the money.

Both Osteo-K and Relentless Improvement are gluten free and manufactured in a gluten free facility. Both contain 45 mg MK4 per serving. Osteo-K sells for $64.56 for the Automatic Reorder program, which you can cancel at anytime without penalty. This is not a sale price. This is the regular price. The Relentless Improvement brand is regularly $61.50. It is on sale for $49.99.

So what do you get with each product? Each product is a 30-day supply. Each product contains 45 mg MK4 per serving. One serving size for Osteo-K is six capsules. The recommendation is to take three capsules twice daily with food.

The Relentless Improvement brand's serving size is three capsules daily, but the label only recommends that you take one to three capsules daily. For educational purposes let me tell everyone that if you are only taking one or two capsules (15 to 30 mg, respectively, of the MK4) in the Relentless improvement product, then you are taking subclinical amounts.

That is, the only amount and form of MK4 ever shown to reduce fracture risk is 45 mg daily, in divided doses.

OK, back to the cost comparison. Vicki mentioned that she is also taking calcium, vitamin D, boron and magnesium. She is spending extra money to buy each of these products. What Vicki did not mention in her email is that Osteo-K, in addition to 45 mg of MK4, also contains 1200 mg calcium citrate, 2000 units vitamin D3, 1 mg boron citrate and 300 mg magnesium (amino acid chelate).

I have looked at different brands that contain these minerals and

vitamin D, and every time I've done the calculation of what it would cost to purchase MK4 from Relentless Improvement, plus what it would cost to buy separate products that deliver the same dose and form of the minerals and vitamin D3 in Osteo-K, it always comes out to significantly more than purchasing Osteo-K.

And that's precisely why we developed Osteo-K, and many of our other

formulas: to provide clinically relevant amounts of nutrients in one bottle

that is less expensive and more convenient to take than buying separate

  bottles of the different ingredients.

Everyone will draw their own conclusion as to which product, or even if a MK4 product, would be a good investment. I would simply ask that you calculate how much money you are spending on the extra calcium, vitamin D3,magnesium and boron, and compare the prices. A simple comparison of the face-value cost of one bottle of Osteo-K compared to the Relentless Improvement is not an accurate comparison.

  Warm Regards,
