Hello.
I understand that Centrum Children's Vitamins contain mannitol derived from wheat. However, mannitol is an alcohol, not a protein. Gluten is a protein and therefore should not be contained in mannitol - even that which is derived from wheat. So is mannitol (from wheat) safe as a component for people with CD?

Please, no personal opinions or speculation (I have plenty of those myself :). I'd really like to hear from someone who is educated on the topic, with scientific information to back up their conclusion. Thanks!

Teresa
