These two messages show the wide difference of opinion on salad bars.
One says to stay away while the other reports that you are limited by
that choice.
 
Therefore, we are faced with a choice.  Salad bars can be a celiac's only
fast foods in those locations where salad bars are found.  Here are a few
thoughts on the subject.
 
How sensitive to gluten are you?  I never recommend that you cheat but
some are unable to tolerate the smallest amounts.
 
What is the appearance of the salad bar?
 
Are those things that we must avoid separated by a reasonable distance?
Are you willing to skip you favorite item when is is too close to a
dangerous item?
 
When asking these questions, how hungary are you?  When an item is our
only source of food, we sometime take risks.  For some reason, the odds
are against us and many times we will have a gluten reaction.
