Ok, please dont get angry with me for being overly concerned. I've been
calling around to various coffee outlets to find out if their coffees are
guaranteeed gluten-free, both regular and decaf. Starbucks says all coffees
EXCEPT the flavorings used in certain chocolate drinks are GF. Peets Coffee
(has anyone had Peets Coffee? It is amazing) says their coffees are all
gluten-free. Havent reached Tullys yet.

However, I am not getting straight answers on whether or not the paper
coffee cups in each store can be considered gluten-free. Is this even an
issue? Of course we dont eat the cups, but can hot coffee cause wheat starch
to leach out of the cup (if indeed the cup has wheat starch)?

Also, the issue of coffee filters remains controversial. Some people on this
list swear up and down that coffee filters do not have gluten in them.
Others say they can. Starbucks and Peets both claim the fileters they use in
their sotres are GF, but dont you ever get the feeling that the person you
are speaking to is not completely sure and is just blurting out what you
want to hear?

Does anyone frequently drink regular and/or decaf coffee from Starbucks,
Peets, or Tully's out of the paper cups and find that they have no problems
with gluten reactions? This would be extremely helpful coming from someone
who is otherwise very sensitive to trace gluten.

Thanks all and everyone have a fantastic weekend!!!!!!!!!!
