Dear Listmates,

Since I posted info yesterday about the new anti-inflammatory drug Celebrex
now being available in Canada as well as the U.S. I have received posts
from good friends on this list in the States who have very recently read
reports and experienced first hand that Celebrex DOES cause bleeding problems.

Here is the info I received from one of the posts:

((In the US. last week, the news reported 10 deaths from celebrex from
internal bleeding. I took celebrex for 7 days. I am still recuperating
from the drug. My stomach got irritated and it has lactose in it. I
searched the web and learned that if you are extremely alleric to milk,
lactose contains the proteins and even in that small itty bitty dosage,
if one is so sensitive, you can get a reaction.

Well, evidently I learned something. The dosage builds up before it works.
When celebrex is up to a certain dosage it really helped me.

For the first time in a long time, I was free of pain. BUT, I
had to discontinue it because it messed up my hiatal hernia and ibs and
the symptoms made me very uncomfortable with pain across the navel where
he large intestines are and gas pains from the lactose. I sincerely hope
that you can take this med because it is the only one that really helped
me. I also read an article in my research that said anyone with a leaky
gut or intestinal permeability should not stay on this drug too long as
it affects this condition. This means all NSAIDS. I am hoping for your
sake, you can continue but just be aware that they alerted us in the US,
it can still cause intestinal irritation and bleeding.))
