I've sent this out to a couple of people privately, but I might as
well send it to the list since this is a hot topic:

This is adapted from a recipe I found on this list a few years ago
called Royal Pecan Chocolate Gateau. It takes about 10 minutes to
make the cake and clean up! I'm not kidding! And everyone raves
about it! I'm always asked to bring it to Seder.

1/2 cup melted butter or margarine
1 1/4 c sugar
4 T cocoa
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c pecans

1) Process the pecans in a food processor until they are the
consistency of a meal.

2) Put all the rest of the ingredients in and process 30 seconds,
scrape sides, and process for another 30 seconds.

3) Pour into greased springform pan.

4) Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, although it depends
somewhat on the diameter of the pan. Check early and see how it's
coming along.

5) Before serving, put some powdered sugar in a metal strainer, and
sprinkle it over the cake.

Best wishes -

Laura
