I admit I've still got a lot too learn, since I've only been at this for
6 months. I understood that the gluten was a part of the grain kernel. I
can understand why sprouts would have to be avoided since it would be
impossible to guarentee that none of the kernel would be included.

If I understand the previous post, however, there might be gluten also
in leaves that are well removed from the kernel. Although I have not
been eating the leaves :), I would hate to have to unnecessarily avoid
things (like vitamins) that contained a non-dangerous portion of the
plant.

Is it the kernel, or the whole plant that contains the "evil" gluten????

Carl
