Through increased knowledge of physicians, products, cooking
techniques, etc.; we can improve our quality of life while living the
GF lifestyle. To support your search for information, I highly
recommend that everyone check out the availability of local celiac
support groups.

Each group has a different personality and many cities do not have a
local group; but when available the ability to talk with a local celiac
is a wonderful feature. To assist in finding a local group, the CELIAC
list has available listings of most of the support groups. A list is
available by sending this command to: [log in to unmask]

GET CELIAC GROUPSXX CELIAC

In this command, the XX is replaced by one of these codes, depending on
which version you desire.

US United States support groups
CA Canadian support groups
IN Groups outside of the US and Canada

I highly recommend that you obtain the complete file as a reference
tool for when you visit grandmother's or take a trip to some distant
city. For those that do not desire the complete file, you may send a
request to me at <[log in to unmask]> (and NOT to the List). I will
send the applicable US state, Canadian province, or non-American
country support group information to you. Just let me know which
state, province, or country to send.

If anyone is interested in starting a group, please contact Mike Jones
<[log in to unmask]>. He can put you in contact with those who can
assist in organizing a support group in your area.

Also, if anyone is willing to be a contact person for other celiacs in
your location, please let me know at <[log in to unmask]>. If you
belong to a support group in your area, you can become an on-line
contact for the group. If there is no group in your area, you can be
listed as a "Resource Unit" in the appropriate GROUPSXX file. It is
wonderful to have email contacts in the various cities. These resource
people do not hold meetings but are willing to provide various levels
of service to local or visiting celiacs. Sometimes after enough people
contact a resource person a group is then formed.

For the Listowners,
