I have recieved very valuable info on school rules and 504 plans. In the mean
time though my daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes . We will be
going thru 504 with that ,which pretty much covers alot ,and her snacks will
now be at nurses office ,,only because she is young and we need to know if
she ate all her snack and her class will not be getting a snack. When she is
older the school said she can eat the snack in her class. I am fine with this.
I do want to just say to some people who read my question wrong there are
three classes only one has to be peanut free . So I wanted my daughter
moved to the class which allowwed peanuts due to her already having limited
snacks. They said no. There were obtions,. it is not a peanut free school .
Only 1 class is and there are three classes all together. so I was mad but
didnt know if I had any rights to persue making them put her in the other
class. I think I do with celiac alone but now with diabetes like I said they
have a whole form I got and the doctors filled out and she will have snacks in
morning and afternoon as well as lunch. Lunch is in caferteria but snacks in
nurses. For now. And does anyone know if there is a diabetes and celaic list
serv or can I use this to ask about both?
