Wow- what an amazing response! I guess my problem is not as bizarre as I
thought. Thank you all so very much. Several people said they have had a
similar problem but didn't know what it was, so I thought I would summarize.

The overwhelming majority of responses suggested that I may have Thrush- or
candida. This is a an overgrowth of yeast. I knew that this often occurred
in the intestines and as feminine yeast infections, but apparently occurs in
the mouth too! I don't have much of a history of antibiotic use, which can
cause it, but I do eat a TON of sugar. Suggestions were go to the doctor.
Also cutback on sugar/fruits etc. , try acidophilus etc.

Three people said they had similar reactions to Tarter Control toothpaste.
Interestingly enough, I switched toothpaste a few nights ago and have had no
white gooey film! maybe it's not a yeast problem after all? I do see my
doctor in a week- we'll see. Would a yeast infection just go away like that?

other individual ideas: poor digestion, plaque, nutritional deficit, allergy
to corn or other food.

Thanks so much for the supportive responses and taking the time!
