I was wondering what the advice is for whether to test a preschooler (turned 3 in October) who has been gluten-free since birth. (Please no flames- when we had him, we were not aware of the advice that babies should be exposed to gluten during infancy and I'm not sure I would have tried it even if I'd heard of it). We followed the course we believed was most prudent at the time since his father has Celiac & DH.

I'm just wondering what the current consensus is. Should we try a genetic test first to see if he's even predisposed? A gluten challenge seems like a bit much for someone of his age, but others have been pressuring me to do it. Are there other options? The last thing I want to do is risk his health for the sake of finding new menu options, but he's become quite picky and more options might lead to better eating. We just don't know.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give. I will summarize.
