Hi all,

just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me...
I've had recurrent stomach problems and fatigue for the last few months, and
have seen approx 12 doctors since then about it. I've basically been told
it's IBS but had no proper examination. Anyway, I recently heard of celiac
and it's link to diabetes (I'm diabetic) so I asked the doctor to test me
for celiac. He said that the test was to expensive and there was no blood
test available, so I should go on a gluten free diet for 3 months and see
how I feel then. This seems weird to me, as a) there is a test, and b) it's
expensive and awkward to go gluten free if you don't know that that is the
problem. Anyway, I recently discovered a place that does a mail order celiac
blood test which I have sent off for. It's expensive but worth it. So, I
don't know if I am celiac yet, but what I am curious about is if there is
anyone else in the UK who has had these problems with misinformed GP's?
