Dear Listmembers, The consensus on sodium stearoyl lactylate is that it is
lactose free..  If you recall I asked about this a couple of weeks ago as
it is an ingredient in some of Dietary Specialtie's Mixes.  The company
rep. informed me that it is lactose free and quite a few listmembers sent
me some very nice scientific posts explaining that it is lactose free..
I guess that when those of us who are lactose intolerant see those letters
lact- we tend to assume the worst!  One poster asked me if it contains any
corn.  The rep. told me today, that it does not.   Thanks to all for their
