According to the company these are gluten free. They are prepared raw
potatoes that are available in the refrigerated section. Although not
cheap it does save time and make it possible to make certain dishes from
scratch (so you get a homemade product that costs the same or less than
the commercially available product IF you could find them without
gluten). A friend makes potato kugel using their shredded hash browns
and I think I will make some potato latkes this year using the shredded
hash browns. The natural flavorings can be from 3 different starches (I
was told which ones but don't remember which ones they are except one is
corn, but the others are not from a gluten containing grain). The
dextrose is from corn. This is kosher under O-U (the mashed potatoes are
O-U dairy).

I also told them that (as long as they were comfortable with saying this
on the package) stating they are gluten free on the package IS a selling
point and that friends that do not have celiac will tell their friends
with celiac that this or that product says it is gluten free right on
the package.
