Those who are frustrated with their doctors might like to watch the
Italian movie "Dear Diary", by Nanni Moretti, that got a prize at the
Cannes Film festival some year ago. It is available on video with
subtitles..

In the third (and last episode) Moretti (who also acts) tells the (real,
I believe) story of how he got diagnosed with non-Hodgin's lymphoma.
Among the many, many doctors he sees there is one who tries to convince
him that it is all in his head (sounds familiar?). "Now I am happy",
comments the character while leaving the doctor's surgery, "because at
least now I know it is all my fault".
It has an happy ending...
