    Hi, everybody.  Dona Vickrey wrote that Alletess Medical
Laboratory offers blood testing for "casein and/or gluten peptides."
I was glad to see this information on the list and was tested there
myself about 2 years ago.  But I wanted to clarify the following:
    The blood test (RAST) is actually for antibodies (IgG, IgA, etc.)
to various proteins (casein, gluten, ovalbumin, lactalbumin, etc.).
As far as I know, there's no such thing as a casein or gluten
"peptide."  However, Robert Cade's project at the Univ. of Fla. did
test 24-hour urine samples for the presence of excess opioid
peptides.  Unless you're concerned about autism (or schizophrenia),
there shouldn't be any need for the urine test, which I think Cade's
staff has stopped doing anyway.  The blood panel offered by Alletess
will do the trick.
