If the problem with some celiacs eating oats is contamination in the
harvesting and processing. I am an organic farmer and mother to a celiac
son. I would be interested in growing some oats next summer for a few
interested people. A trial to see how feasible it is on a small scale
without big machinary. We do not grow any other grains and no one around
us does either. Let me know if you're interested and my dh and I will
talk and plan. Or maybe a group of you who live in the same metropolitan
area could contract with a small farmer. The farmer gets close to retail
price for his/her crop and y'all get uncontaminated oats (or quinoa,
amaranth, whatever).
