I have searched the archive and it has been about a year since anyone has listed restaurants and hotels for the Washington DC area. 

My husband and I will be tourists in DC the week before the Annual GIG Conference. Please let me know if you have recommendations where to stay and eat. Embassy Suites was mentioned a couple of times in the past. 

Will we need a rental car?

Would also love to hear about "must visit" spots in DC.
