Dear friends,

Once again, Carly at Wellspring in Chapel Hill is planning a holiday bake. In
response to feedback, she will revise not her pastry recipe (which is Donna
Jo's Dream Pastry from Hagman 2) but the machine in which it is mixed, in
order to achieve a lighter crust. She has shared with me the joy she gets
from providing people with baked goods they may not have had for years or, in
the case of some of the children, ever.

Orders need to be in by December 20th. Please call Carly at 919-968-1983, or
fax her at 919-967-0228, or email (attn Carly) to [log in to unmask]
After Jan 1, she will have her own email address at wholefoods. If you are
interested in receiving private announcement of future events, including GF
dinners at Wellspring and maybe other area restaurants, please send me your
email address.

The menu for this holiday is:

                apple pie
                pecan pie
cherry pie (made with tart cherries)
                pumpkin pie

                cream biscuits (by the dozen)
sweet potato biscuits (by the dozen)

                fruitcake
Buche de Noel (a chocolate cake roll with mocha buttercream,
covered in chocolate and decorated so it looks
                            like a log)
Thai rice gateau, 7" or 10" (a cake made with whole grains
of fragrant thai rice with a dairy topping gently
infused with spices--possibly with fruit on top--
                            ask Carly)

As before, I have no connection with Wellspring other than that of satisfied
(and ever happier) customer.

Connie
