Dear All,

I think I hit on a really good gluten free challah recipe. But, first I must tell you this funny story. My husband and I performed a children's concert at a Jewish Day School in Orlando, FL last week. We sang a song about the different Sabbath symbols, one of them being challah (Jewish egg bread). A little boy timidly raised his hand and told us that he couldn't eat challah. I felt this instant bond with him and mentioned that I couldn't eat challah either, but I told him I had a recipe for a special challah that I could eat. Anyway, long story short, we returned home to Massachusetts and I received an email from the little boy's mother asking me to send her the recipe before this weekend. The problem is, I really did have a number of recipes for GF challah in my files, but none that I had tried. So, today I went about making one of the recipes in my file. It came out so bad that we had to throw the entire loaf in the trash! Determined not to disappoint the little boy, I
searched online for another GF challah recipe and found one that I was willing to try. But I made some adjustments to it first, as I felt it would improve the recipe. It came out great!!!! I am really pleased, so pardon me if I brag. But I know you all understand how significant it is to find a GF recipe that is good! The only thing I will change yet again is to substitute some GF flours that are higher in protein. I might even try making it with one of the Breads From Anna GF mixes. In any case, if you want the recipe, please visit my blog at www.IAmglutenfree.blogspot.com.

Good luck! If you try the recipe, let me know how it comes out.

  Best,
  Ellen Allard
