In summary, be careful with Tempeh and you might want to try making
yourself.  I am not going to try commercial products yet and may try making
it.  As one writes, "never actually called the manufacturers....but
certainly by the ingredients most tempeh is gf".  Whole foods has a product
with all GF ingredients (be wary of the barley product).   Another says "no"
and I assume this means they have not come across GF Tempeh.  Another
writes, "make it yourself... and it is not hard (see links below)."  Three
others said similar things to "Plain soybean tempeh is GF.  Check
ingredients for non-GF add-ons."
